About preferences

The Preferences tab allows you to customize some of FIRST CALL on the Web's features to your liking. This allows you to be more efficient and minimizes your search time.

Product tab

The Product tab allows you to specify the default settings for functionality associated with FIRST CALL on the Web.

For example, you can change the default date range used when searching, the number of retrieved headlines to display and sort order, and the default symbol set used when searching.

You can also specify your preferences for report defaults in Quant searches. This includes the number of years to search, the columns on which to sort, and the report format for specific reports.

Log-in tab
The Log-in tab allows you to specify the default settings of FIRST CALL on the Web when you first log-in. You can choose the product you would like to view when you first log-in, and (if you select to have the latest headlines displayed) only the headlines of the specified product.

You can also specify that the system perform a search on a portfolio or a stored search when you log-in. However, it is important to remember that you can only choose one of these options at a time. You can go back and change your preferences at any time.

Interface tab

The Interface tab allows you change the way FIRST CALL on the Web looks and acts. You can specify whether you want the ability to enter a ticker and then surf between products simply by clicking the product name in the Product Menu. This reduces the time necessary to initiate a search and is recommended if you use multiple First Call products.

You can also specify the products you want displayed in the Product Menu. To receive commingled search results (headlines from Notes, Research Direct, and BondCall Direct), select the Commingled Research check box. Once you have saved this preference, you can select Commingled Research from the Product Menu to access the commingled search results.

  • If, at any time, you decide that you want to restore the previous preference settings, simply click .
